Anne Hathaway has been cast in a feature film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's Verity, which will be directed by Michael Showalter.
Hathaway has now signed on to star in Amazon MGM Studios’ adaptation of Verity, which was written by Hoover and self-published in 2018. Showalter will direct the film.“The story follows, Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer who is on the brink of financial ruin when she accepts the job offer of a lifetime,” the synopsis reads.
The script for Verity is written by Nick Antosca, while previous drafts came from Hillary Seitz, Angela LaManna, Will Honley, and April Maguire. Antosca also serves as a producer on the movie alongside Showalter, Hathaway, Hoover, Alex Hedlund, Jordana Mollick, and Stacey Sher. Lauren Levine serves as an executive producer.
Verity does not yet have an official release date from Amazon MGM Studios at this time; although, it is known that the movie will play in United States theaters rather than debut on a streaming service.Brandon Schreur has been writing about comics, movies, television shows, and all things pop culture for roughly five years.
