On May 31, TODAY experienced a major takeover: Not only was Brazilian superstar Anitta our latest digital cover star, but she also performed live on the Plaza as part of TODAY's summer Citi Concert series. The singer was in town ahead of the Brooklyn stops of her 'Baile Funk Experience' tour, a celebration of her latest album, 'Funk Generation.' Afterward, the Rio de Janeiro native, 31 — known for hits like 'Envolver' and 'Bellakeo' — sat down with TODAY.
It was the first time for a Brazilian for so many things that I think it was a historical moment. 6. Do you have any advice for people like me in their 30s with bad knees who want to twerk? That's me! That's me right now; my knees are not nice, and I keep twerking! I have my tour going on, so I have to keep twerking every day. The advice is: Just forget about it. Just think about the fact that you're having fun and you're hot and you look good. Just forget about the knees.
