Lamb, 32, adds another name to the Angels’ list of infield options as he can play both corner spots as well as some outfield
this winter. Both players can play any infield spot, although neither would be likely to see much time at shortstop.
The Angels struggled to field a competitive infield last year when Anthony Rendon, Jared Walsh and David Fletcher were injured. They still have those three, plus Luis Rengifo, Andrew Velazquez, Livan Soto and Matt Thaiss, in addition to the three newcomers. Lamb, Drury and Urshela all have connections to manager Phil Nevin, who worked with Lamb and Drury with the Arizona Diamondbacks and Urshela with the New York Yankees.
