Ancient 'green comet' discovered by Palomar Observatory visible for 3 nights in San Diego County [Breaking]
The “green comet”, which has gotten a lot of publicity since its discovery last year from the Palomar Observatory in North County, will be visible late Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights from areas that are not overwhelmed by city lights, according to UC San Diego astrophysicist Brian Keating.
To measure 30 degrees, make a fist and extend your arm. Then align the bottom of your fist with the horizon. An adult fist represents 10 degrees.The comet will be making its closest approach to Earth, coming within roughly 26 million miles of the planet.
