FashionPact may look like an average thrift store, but the little pink shop off Lake Otis is anything but.
“People come in and donate their household goods and clothes, and then we resell them,” explained owner and founder Brittani Clancey.Since opening roughly three years ago, Fashionpact has donated over a quarter of a million dollars to local nonprofits. The donations come directly from store purchases and at the discretion of customers.
“I couldn’t do it without the community showing up to shop every day,” Clancey added. “The nonprofits, they engage, they help us. They spread news for us. We do the same for them. It’s a very mutual thing.” “The community absolutely rallied around us. They were there and we were able to fill our store so quickly.”
“Reaching this milestone of $250,000 is a really big deal for me because it really validates that this is something that can stick around,” Clancey said.An event on Thursday hopes to strengthen the connection between Fashionpact and nonprofits. From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., people can engage with nonprofits empowering women, including
