John Walker Lindh, convicted of helping the Taliban in Afghanistan, released from prison – US media
John Walker Lindh, the so-called"American Taliban" captured in Afghanistan after the September 11, 2001 attacks, has been released after 17 years in US federal prison.
Now 38, Lindh is among dozens of prisoners captured in Iraq and Afghanistan by US forces and convicted of terrorism-related crimes following the September 11, 2001 attacks.
