Fitbit owners know all too well the limitations Fitbit Pay has experienced without the support of major financial institutions. However, you can keep your running shoes and post-workout coffee cravings at the ready since the Google Wallet is set to replace Fitbit Pay, a move finally supported by American Express.
Google acquired Fitbit in 2021, leaving many Fitbit enthusiasts ready and waiting for the possibility of integrations. Finally, the time has come, with Google offering its Google Wallet services on Fitbit wearables from 29 July 2024.
One of the main issues for Fitbit lovers was the limited support for Fitbit Pay from various financial institutions. This put a massive halt in sales, with many choosing different fitness wearables that were supported by big names in the banking sector, including American Express. But it seems like the wait is finally over, with Google Wallet set to replace Fitbit Pay by the end of July, with the added support of American Express.
