Trump's lawyers asked Bragg to set aside his hush money trial conviction, citing the court's ruling on presidential immunity.

The Supreme Court's ruling on presidential immunity could mean bad news for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, whose office prosecuted the hush money criminal case against former President Donald Trump.Trump's lawyers on Monday asked the judge who presided over the trial to set aside Trump's conviction, citing the Supreme Court's ruling, according to a letter obtained by The Associated Press and The New York Times.

District Judge Tanya Chutkan must determine whether the actions Trump is accused of in that case were official or not.But while much of the New York case focused on acts that Trump took as a presidential candidate, not a president, Trump's lawyers argued in the letter that prosecutors should not have been allowed to introduce some evidence they said constituted official presidential acts, the AP reported.
