More than 90% of Cleveland patrol officers and detectives do not support the city’s safety director, Karrie Howard, following his remarks about the Irish and police hiring practices, union chief Jeff Follmer announced Wednesday.

Follmer, the president of the Cleveland Police Patrolmen’s Association, revealed the results of a recent poll, which showed that 868 members have no confidence in Howard’s leadership, while just 38 support him, Follmer said. Alleging bias, Follmer called on Mayor Justin Bibb to fire Howard immediately.
