FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Three Alaskans from the Interior were honored on Tuesday, May 16 by Alaska’s First Lady, Rose Dunleavy.
Their recognition came as part of her annual “Volunteer of the Year” awards, which went out to seven Alaskans this year. From Fairbanks, Monte Pearson, known to many as the “Pay it Forward Guy,” was awarded for his work in helping stranded Fairbanks drivers get their frozen vehicles started. North Pole saw Teffonie Wyman recognized for her efforts to provide school supplies to children around the school district.
In Delta Junction, Mindy Eggleston’s volunteerism garnered an award, specifically her help in forming the Delta Dog Mushers and Delta Ski Club.
