Frost Bank is donating $1 million to a public-private project to expand and improve the Alamo. The San Antonio-based subsidiary of Cullen/Frost Bankers, Inc. said Friday it has reached a sponsorship agreement to support revitalization and improvement of the historic buildings and grounds of the mission and battle site. The announcement came on the eve of Texas Independence Day on Saturday, and the Alamo's 1724 Gala extravaganza in Alamo Plaza on Saturday night.
“Frost and the Alamo are both longstanding Texas institutions, and we’re proud to play a role in the revitalization of this site that’s so important to the state’s history,” said Frost Chairman and CEO Phil Green. “We’re excited about preserving this experience for future generations.” Along with the title of 'official bank of the Alamo,' Frost's agreement includes title sponsorship of the Alamo’s future online app and interactive experience.
