A decade of debate, disputes, controversies and compromises is coming down to actual construction of the Alamo Visitor Center and Museum.
After a decade of debate, disputes, controversies and compromises, construction is starting on a nearly 160,000-square-foot Alamo Visitor Center and Museum that will tell the entire 300-year history of the famed mission and battle site.
” Patrick thanked Mayor Ron Nirenberg for “working with us.” Nirenberg said the project will “ensure that the shrine is treated with the gravity and respect that it deserves” and raise San Antonio’s profile “as a global destination for historic tourism.” “This will be a one-of-a-kind experience that both educates but also inspires future generations,” he said.
