A Morgan County woman has been charged with capital murder in the stabbing death of her eight-year-old son.
The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jennifer Nicole Long, 41, at the scene of an incident at about 5:30 a.m. on Village Drive near Hartselle. Priceville police also responded.
When officers went to the stairs, they encountered Long coming down. She told them the boy was dead. They discovered him in a bed with multiple stab wounds. “It is with great sadness that we have lost one of our students in Morgan County,” the statement reads. “The student will be remembered for the joy he brought to his friends, classmates, and teachers. My condolences and thoughts go out to the family at this time.
