Israel’s intelligence services are considered one of the best in the business and masters of electronic surveillance. But with Hamas’s attack on the country on Saturday requiring massive planning and coordination comprising ground, naval and air operations, the lack of forewarning will be seen as a serious intelligence failure.
The speaker for the Dale County Republican meeting Oct. 16 is Justice Sarah Stewart who is an Associate Justice on the Alabama Supreme Court and is running in the Republican Primary for the Chief Justice position.In 2006 Stewart was appointed as a Circuit Judge in Mobile. She was the first female jury trial judge in Mobile. Stewart ran unopposed as a Republican three times in 2006, 2010 and 2016 for the Circuit Judge position.
Prior to Stewart’s appointment to the Circuit Bench, she was in private practice for 14 years. As a lawyer, Stewart was the first female president of the Mobile Young Lawyers and was active in the Mobile Bar Association. Stewart earned her J.D. from Vanderbilt Law School in 1992. She received the American Jurisprudence Award for the highest grade in two classes and graduated in the top ten percent of her class.
