Alabamians may get another chance to see the Northern Lights this week.
The Space Weather Prediction Center has issued a geomagnetic storm watch for Oct. 10-11 after a coronal mass ejection on Wednesday morning. Watches at this level, SWPC said, “are very rare.”
The strength of the storm means the aurora may become visible over much of the northern half of the country and maybe as far south as Alabama and northern California. The CME is expected to arrive morning to midday on Oct. 10.
