Trump win bodes well for LSU, Harris victory for Alabama
Based on recent history, a Kamala Harris victory in Tuesday's presidential election bodes well for Alabama, while a Donald Trump win might be a good omen for LSU. In nine of the last 10 presidential elections dating to 1984, Alabama has beaten LSU when a Democrat was elected president. In that same period, LSU has beaten Alabama in most years when a Republican won the election.
In nine of the last 10 election years dating to 1984, the Republican candidate has emerged victorious when LSU beats Alabama in football that year. When the Crimson Tide wins, the Democratic candidate has usually assumed the presidency. The lone exception was in 2016, when Alabama beat LSU 10-0, but Republican Donald Trump bested Democrat Hillary Clinton for president.
