Alabama lands Tyler Harrell, a speedy wide receiver transfer from Louisville.
Alabama went back to the portal for receiver talent, and for a second straight year, it may have landed one of the fastest receivers in the sport.
Harrell was a three-star prospect coming out of Columbus High School in Miami. He was rated 135th by 247Sports among receivers in the 2018 class that also included No. 5 Jaylen Waddle. Appalachian State, Arkansas State, Cincinnati and East Carolina were among the top contenders in his first recruitment.
Harrell caught 18 passes for 523 yards with six touchdowns in 2021, following that up with an impressive spring. Harrell helps restock the Alabama passing offense that lost 74% of its receptions and 76% of its receiving yards from last season. Along with Williams, John Metchie and Slade Bolden entered the NFL draft while outgoing transfers included Javon Baker and new Texas Longhorns, Jahleel Billingsley and Agiye Hall.
