The number of online job ads in Alabama decreased in November, indicating a potential slowdown in the state's job market. While the unemployment rate remained lower than the national average, the increase in unemployment and decrease in job postings suggest a shift in economic conditions.
Of those job ads, over 17,000 of them offered salaries below $50,000 per year. Around 5,400 job ads posted salaries between $50-$69,000 and over 9,000 job ads offered salaries at $70,000 or above.The five occupations with the most online job ads were Registered Nurses, Retail Salespersons, Supervisors of Retail Sales Workers, Heavy and Tractor-Trailer Truck Drivers, and Customer Service Representatives.
UAB Medicine, Taco Bell, and Jack’s Family Restaurants completed the top five employers posting the most online job ads.Alabama’s unemployment rate grew by 0.4%, rising from 2.9% to 3.1% from October into November. However, it remained below the national unemployment rate of 4.2%.Less jobs were available in November than earlier in the year, with the total number of online job ads in Alabama decreasing 1.6% from October, the Department of Labor said
