The submission to Sec. of State Wes Allen’s office ensures Harris will appear on Alabama’s general election ballot in November. GOP nominee Donald Trump’s name was previously submitted to Allen’s office by the Alabama Republican Party.Asked about the status of Kennedy’s name appearing on the ballot, Allen’s office told WSFA 12 News that there is a provision in state law that allows for a candidate to withdrawal from a state or federal race. That would require the candidate to notify the secretary’s office in writing no later than 71 days before the election. That deadline is Monday, Aug. 26.
