First Daphne player to win Gatorade softball Player of the Year

The 5-foot-4 junior right-handed pitcher led the Trojans to a 45-6 record and a berth in the Class 7A state championship before falling to Hewitt-Trussville.
An Alabama commitment, Moten compiled a 35-4 record in the circle with a 0.46 ERA, surrendering just 61 hits in 212.1 innings while striking out 463 batters. She also batted .407 with 15 home runs, 43 RBIs and 29 stolen bases, earning selection as North-South All-Star and All-County recognition. “When we played them, she dominated,” said Foley coach Mike Ebert. “She hit the farthest home run I’ve ever seen from a high school player in her first at-bat of our game. Her final at-bat, a walk-off, was the second farthest. She’s an amazing all-around player. She’s got long arms, she’s very athletic and she pitches with great velocity.”
