and St. Ashworth Temple are holding March with Akron, a march for community members to demand justice for Jayland Walker and call for unity on Monday, Oct. 10 at 1 p.m. at Grace Park, according to a news release issued by the organizations.June 27 after police say they believed he was reaching for a gun as he fled from his car. Walker was unarmed when he died. Eight officers, seven of whom are white, were placed on administrative leave.
The march is a collective effort with the Freedom BLOC, Akron Urban League, Akron NAACP and St. Ashworth Temple, according to Freedom BLOC Communications Director Esther Ngemba.
