Kenny Clinton, 37, had pleaded guilty in February to aggravated vehicular homicide, failure to comply with order or signal of a police officer, and failure to stop after an accident, all felonies, according to Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh.
Police say that on Oct. 24, 2021, officers pulled over a BMW for a traffic violation at Cole Avenue and Marcy Street just after midnight. As officers approached the car, it sped off. The officers tried to pursue the BMW but quickly lost sight of it, police say. The BMW crashed just minutes later on the 1200 block of Andrus Street, according to police. The vehicle was traveling at high speeds north on Andrus when it first struck a construction dumpster, then hit a car parked on the side of the street.
Keera Bradley, who was a passenger in the BMW, was pronounced dead at the scene, police say. The driver had left the scene before police arrived. Police say Clinton Jr. later tried to report the BMW as stolen.on the 500 block of Stanton Avenue in South Akron in December 2021, according to Akron police. He was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.
