Airbnb’s nonprofit arm also helped facilitate temporary free shelter for people fleeing Ukraine and Afghanistan.
Airbnb’s nonprofit arm is once again helping people find shelter in the wake of an international crisis — this time, the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
Airbnb.org, which helped shelter refugees fleeing Afghanistan in 2021 and Ukraine in 2022, will help first responders and rescue workers in Turkey and Syria obtain temporary housing, Airbnb ABNB announced Monday. Airbnb will help pay for the shelter, but it’s also inviting the public to donate to the effort. Airbnb said it will match donations from the public up to $5 million total. The public can donate here.
