Agatha All Along stars Kathryn Hahn and Patti LuPone opened up about their experience filming the upcoming WandaVision spin-off.

Hahn shared that she was very impressed with the show’s creative team, including head writer Jac Schaeffer, for being able to produce such a magical and large-scale story without the excessive use of CGI, which made the project more thrilling for the cast.

“The thing about this show which I thought was so thrilling that Jac Schaeffer, who wrote it and also wrote WandaVision . . . it was very important to her and Mary Livanos, our producer, that there be as minimal CGI,” Hahn said. “So there’s very little that is not practical magic or just our magic. That was a very exciting something to set up that we were able to prove again and again we could do it,” the actress continued. “So, it’s minimal CGI, but that was very thrilling.

In addition, LuPone also teased the MCU show’s high production level, particularly its incredible sets, which even made them emotional the first time they saw it. “May I say to that point, the set, the production design and the set dressers, and the lighting, the costumes, everything about it, it appeared to all of us when we saw it when we came to set that everybody on the creative end were at the top of their game,” LuPone said. “I was telling somebody about the Witches’ Road. How absolutely beautiful . . . we burst into tears when we got on the set and we saw the actual Witches’ Road. It’s gorgeous to look at on top of being a fantastic story.

The series will also introduce a new batch of MCU newcomers, including Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, Sasheer Zamata, and Patti LuPone, with Locke rumored to be the male lead and LuPone set to play Sicilian witch Lilia Calderu. LuPone also previously confirmed that the series will feature several musical numbers from Agatha All Along songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.Maggie Dela Paz has been writing about the movie and TV industry for more than four years now.
