The parents were arrested after detectives discovered signs of neglect and child abuse at a home where they were called for reports of a 10-year-old boy in medical distress.
Authorities arrested the adoptive parents of a boy in Moreno Valley on suspicion of murder, torture and child abuse last week. On Thursday at around 6:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 13000 block of Malibu Court after learning of a juvenile in need of medical aid, according to a statement from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
During their preliminary investigation, deputies reported finding 'signs of possible neglect and abuse.' As they continued their investigation, the boy's health began to decline. He was declared dead several hours after his arrival at the hospital.
