Actor Jussie Smollett isn’t expected to return to the Fox show “Empire” next season, the network said.
Fox has renewed the drama about a family-run musical empire for a sixth season and is bringing back the cast’s main players with the exception of Mr. Smollett. However, the show still has an option to sign Mr. Smollett, meaning a return to the show isn’t totally out of the realm of possibility.
