Staff Reports The Abbeville Christian Academy girls track and field team finished as AISA state runner-up and Lakeside School placed fourth last Friday at the all classification AISA State Championships in Gulf Shores.Overall, 26 AISA teams had competitors at the meet.
George won the 100-meter dash in 13.39 seconds, took the 200-meter dash in 26.44 seconds, won the long jump at 16 feet, 4 ½ inches and captured the triple jump with a state record-shattering 36 feet, 3 ¼ jump.People are also reading… Also for the ACA girls, Anna Grace Blalock tied for second in the high jump after jumping 4 feet 4 inches and Merdith Druey placed fourth in the 100-meter hurdles with a 18.48 time. Emily Cutchen took fifth in the 3200-meter run with a 14 minutes and 38.
The LSC girls also had a third-place finish from the 4x800-meter relay team plus a fifth-place effort from Lindsey Beavers in the discus and a sixth-place showing from the 4x400-meter relay . On the boys side, Abbeville Christian’s seventh-place finish was led by two third-place finishes and three fourth-place efforts.
