The driver lost control of the truck west of Brackettville, a town of 1,300 that lies between Del Rio and Uvalde on Highway 90, a major corridor for human smuggling.In a previous incident near Eagle Pass, one immigrant was found dead and 11 others were freed from a sweltering boxcar on March 25, 2023. The death was the third human-smuggling fatality in South Texas in a 24-hour period.
