Gojo wasn't actually inspired by Kakashi.

Satoru Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen often reminds anime fans of Naruto's Kakashi Hatake. However, another character is said to be the inspiration behind Yuji Itadori's mentor. According to Twitter, Gojo was inspired by Tonbo Tobitake, a shinobi fans of Naruto may or may not remember, since he isn't a major character relative to other shinobi from the hit series.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Kakashi has been a fan-favorite character since Naruto began. He served as a mentor to Team 7 and his white hair combined with his slanted, eye-covering forehead protector make him easily recognizable among Konoha's many elite shinobi. The Sharingan, shown in his eye, made him an immeasurably powerful figure for most of the original series.

Gojo's Design Isn't Inspired By Kakashi On Twitter, a quote from Gege Akutami – the creator of Jujutsu Kaisen – was shared that discussed Gojo's design and Naruto's impact on the series. Like Naruto, Jujutsu Kaisen follows a young hero who acts rashly, but is protective of those around him while being possessed by a being that could cause mass destruction. Naruto and Itadori serve as living prisons while they work hard to grow stronger.

As mentioned in the quote, Tonbo Tobitake is a proctor in the Chunin Exams. He first appeared in the third episode of Naruto and chapter 40 of the manga. His head and upper face are largely hidden by the bandages wrapped around his head, while his forehead protector lays over his eyes. While Gojo also has an eye covering, he has been known to remove it to use his Six Eyes jujutsu.

Tobitake is not a well-known character, even when it comes to his own creator. He hasn't appeared to have any special abilities based on his present appearances within Naruto. In many ways, he is seemingly unremarkable other than the fact that he's a Chunin that serves as part of Konohagakure Intelligence Division to gather and analyze information. Despite appearing to be very similar to Kakashi Hitake, Satoru Gojo was not modeled after the iconic Naruto mentor.
