Team USA shined against Japan in the first game at the Paris 2024 Olympics, with a spectacular performance by A'ja Wilson.
Team USA has sent many WNBA stars to the Paris 2024 Olympics with the hope the women's squad can capture their eighth consecutive gold medal.Some of the stars that populate the team are reigning WNBA MVP Breanna Stewart of the New York Liberty, former WNBA MVP A'ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces, Liberty All-Star guard Sabrina Ionescu, Phoenix Mercury All-Star center Brittney Griner, Aces All-Star point guard Kelsey Plum, Mercury All-Star shooting guard Diana Taurasi, and many more.
Tied for third with 11 points each were Plum, Ionescu, and Griner. Plum also secured three assists and one steal. Ionescu brought in five assists and one steal. Griner also added three assists and one block of her own.The team gelled in the right way, dominating every quarter. The closest Japan came to pushing Team USA happened in the game's second quarter, when the U.S. secured 28 to Japan's 24 points. Japan also had a respectable showing in the fourth quarter when the U.S.
