The new Prius is more stylish and sportier than ever—but is that enough to earn it the Gazoo Racing treatment?
, even if saying that about past Prii would have been something worth keeping secret. Its history of vanilla design and place in in pop culture as the butt of many jokes makes this new one's station so shocking—seriously, the new Prius looksand entertaining handling.
If our eyes don't deceive us, Toyota may have just hinted that such a thing is coming in the near future. Toyota's Gazoo Racing division just put out a release to detail its activities during this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans, and included the very interesting photo above amidst its successful hybrid prototype racers and one-off Toyota GR Corolla with a hydrogen engine.
In that photo above, we can make out the chin of a Toyota vehicle peeking out from under a garage door. It has quad accent lights at each corner vaguely evocative of Toyota's WEC racers, but look closer at the bumper, and the lower intake and curvature of the piece overall seems to match up with a certain doorstop-shaped mainstream hybrid.
