A 2-year-old boy was pulled from a pond in Aurora on Friday and was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Emergency responders with Aurora Fire Rescue and police arrived at about 2 p.m. at Expo Park, 10955 E. Exposition Ave., where the child was recovered from a pond, said Elizabeth McGregor, a police spokeswoman.
Life-saving measures, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation, were performed, but the child died, McGregor said. The boy was with family members on Friday at a nearby church prior to the incident. An investigation is underway. The child’s identity and official cause and manner of his death will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office.
