Police say 'this kind of violence is utterly unacceptable'
Eight people have been arrested after a group armed with baseball bats smashed up a car while its owner was inside. Nottinghamshire Police said officers were called to Burford Road in Hyson Green just after 8.30pm on January 17 after an Audi A3 was attacked.
The vehicle's owner told officers he had been in an argument with a man on Snapchat before the incident. The group attacking the car left in two cars, with no reports of any injuries. Nottinghamshire Police said a Vauxhall Astra was stopped on Lenton Boulevard and that five male occupants, aged 18, 19, 19, 20 and 21, were all arrested on suspicion of affray and criminal damage. A Volkswagen Golf was later stopped in Forest Fields and three males, aged 17, 18 and 18, were arrested on suspicion of the same offences.Detective Sergeant Steve Dalby, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "This was a large-scale disturbance and eight suspects are in custody.
"This kind of violence is utterly unacceptable and we are determined to bring all those involved to justice." People with information or footage of the incident are being asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 658 of January 17.
