The county has contracted for construction of an $8.5 million annex for the precinct in Sugar Land.Fort Bend County commissioners have approved a contract for up to $8.5 million to build an annex for Precinct 3 in Sugar Land that will include offices for the precinct's commissioner and constable and a courtroom for the justice of the peace.

The 25,145-square-foot, one-story facility building will be on Stadium Drive in the Imperial development, according to county documents. The parking area will accommodate up to 170 vehicles and include landscaping and irrigation."This is not a new project," said Dennis Spellman, the county's communications director."What was approved was additional funding above what was budgeted due to inflation.

“Essentially, they are building one location that has the commissioner’s office, the Precinct 3 constable’s office and the Precinct 3 justice of the peace courtroom under one roof, just as they have in other Fort Bend County precincts,” Spellman said.
