The company filed a warn notice to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry informing the state of the layoffs at its facility at 450 Penn St. in Reading, Berks County.

“The layoff is due to the company’s eventual exit from the work site,” the company said in the WARN notice dated April 17.Santander said the employees were notified off the layoffs on Monday. Employees impacted by the layoffs who work through their end date are eligible for severance benefits. The WARN Act is federal legislation that offers protection to workers, their families and communities by requiring employers to provide notice 60 days in advance of a covered-business closing and covered-business mass layoff.
