Both stories are about an alien race that slowly and quietly invades the Earth in an effort to eradicate humanity, and both feature a companion's parent used for comedic effect.
8 Worse: "Vincent and the Doctor" & "Listen" These two episodes aren't compared enough, but they are actually rather similar — both feature invisible aliens that the Doctor is fascinated by and explore the concept that not everything in the timeline can be easily rewritten.
