A crash killed five people and closed Interstate 81 north in Franklin County on Wednesday night.
PennDOT’s district press officer said an RV driving south crossed over the median and collided with a double-trailer truck at 8:53 p.m. near Chambersburg. He confirmed five people died, but it was not clear whether anyone else was injured. I-81 north is expected to be closed between Exit 16 and Exit 20 in Greene Township into Thursday morning. All northbound lanes remained closed at 6 a.m., according to 511pa.com.
