Five men were arrested after a large brawl involving at least 20 people broke out near the Santa Monica Pier Saturday, according to police. Officers responded to a 911 call around 2:21 p.m. reporting multiple men fighting north of the pier near Tower 14. One person was found at the scene suffering from a non-life threatening stab wound, while another victim suffered a possible broken ankle during the fight, officials said. Both were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
SUGGESTED:It's unclear at this time what may have prompted the fight. The investigation remains active and ongoing.This incident is the latest in a string of violent crimes in Santa Monica that is putting people on high alert. Just last week, 31-year-old Jawann Garnett was arrested after he allegedly assaulted three women at the beach.
