Four men were arrested after a security guard was shot and killed at an illegal gambling establishment in Studio City last week and police say they may be linked to other crimes.

Steven Hans Dunkel, Matthew Scott Riley, Michael John Blankenship and Rudy Javier Madrid were arrested for murder on Monday.

Last week, a shooting occurred at a nightclub in the 2200 block of Cahuenga Boulevard. About 30 people were inside at the time, many of whom were able to escape. "One of the suspects basically shoots him right as he walks in the door," LAPD Det. Richard Moakley told reporters at the scene last week. "This may have been like a botched robbery attempt."

For about 14 hours, residents again and again took to the podium to slam the project, saying it would be a gross misuse of public funds to build the huge facility in a large urban forest in a poor, majority-Black area.
