Three separate car chases, in San Francisco, Lafayette and Oakland, caused closures and disrupted traffic on Bay Area roads and freeways early Thursday, officials said. The chases came after a police pursuit shut down multiple roads in Oakland on Wednesday afternoon. Law enforcement were still gathering details on Thursday morning’s pursuits at 8 a.m., but some details were available. The California Highway Patrol confirmed police in San Francisco chased after a car early Thursday.
which was the first to report on the three chases, said the first pursuit began at 2 a.m., continued onto the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge at speeds up to 100 mph, and a police officer was reportedly dragged by a car. The San Francisco Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The second chase started in Lafayette and ended in Oakland, beginning around 4:30 a.m.
