The launch window for North Korea's second spy satellite began on midnight on Sunday and will continue for eight days.
North Korea has informed Japan that it is planning to launch a rocket that will apparently carry its second military spy satellite by June 4.
Japan’s coast guard is responsible for coordinating and distributing maritime safety information in East Asia, and therefore, Pyongyang shares its plans for launches with the country. Therefore, the move is being closely watched by the US, South Korea, and Japan. Officials from the three countries have also decided to urge North Korea from going ahead with the launch.that the notice from Pyongyang also includes three maritime danger zones believed to be the areas where rocket debris may fall—two west of the Korean Peninsula and the other to the east of the Philippines’ island of Luzon.
Despite pressure from UN, North Korea maintains that it has every right to launch satellites and test missiles for enhancing its capabilities. The spy satellites, as per Pyongyang, are aimed at helping it monitor US and South Korea’s moves in its vicinity.More details about the country’s second spy satellite, scheduled to be launched in the days ahead, are yet to be known.North Korea’s National Aerospace Technology Administration had confirmed that the launch was successful.
