With the regular season winding down, Judge and Ohtani are lapping the MVP competition. But is there an even loftier goal within their sights?
So far, Shohei Ohtani and Aaron Judge have both had seasons for the ages. Up to this point in his inaugural campaign with the Dodgers, Ohtani has been worth every penny of his 10-year, $700 million contract. As of Aug. 25, he is second in the league in home runs , tied for fourth in the league in RBIs and eighth in hits . In addition, he recently became the sixth member of the 40/40 club.
Let's take a look at the odds as of Aug. 25. Shohei Ohtani vs. Any Other Player: Shohei Ohtani: -1400 Any other player: +500 Aaron Judge vs. Any Other Player: Aaron Judge: -3000 Any other player: +1000 Important to note is that Judge was at -2000 vs. the field on Sunday morning. But those two homers shortened his odds even further, all the way down to -3000.
