Lucid promised a less expensive version of its Air EV, and now it delivers with the $78,975 Air Pure.

Platinum status lets you board the plane sooner than others. Diamond members, well, they can do just about anything as long as the cops aren't watching. The idea seems to be to make you want more. That's what makes the Lucid Air Pure such a fresh take. It's the most affordable version of an impressive EV.
The ride, though, is lovely, and the rear-drive version handles with unerring grace. Through the garden of bumps, twists, and curves that is our 10Best loop, the Air served a driving experience as smooth as cocoa butter. The 430-hp rear-drive Air Pure gets to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds, and the 480-hp all-wheel-drive Pure cuts that to 3.5 seconds. The inherent goodness of the 819-hp dual-motor Air Grand Touring and even the 1234-hp Air Sapphire certainly carries down.
