BREAKING Georgia grand jury report into 2020 election interference recommends perjury charges for 'one or more' witnesses
"One or more" witnesses may have lied under oath and committed perjury, according to a grand jury that investigated former president Donald Trump's actions in Georgia after he lost the 2020 election.
"A majority of the Grand Jury believes that perjury may have been committed by one or more witnesses testifying before it. The Grand Jury recommends that the District Attorney seek appropriate indictments for such crimes where the evidence is compelling," according to the nine-page report. "The Grand Jury heard extensive testimony on the subject of alleged election fraud from poll workers, investigators, technical experts, and State of Georgia employees and officials, as well as from persons still claiming that such fraud took place," the report added, noting the 26-member agreed unanimously that"no widespread fraud took place."
Willis' investigation was prompted in part by Trump's Jan. 2, 2021 phone call to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, in which Trump asked him to"find 11,780 votes," the precise number Trump needed to overcome his defeat by then-candidate Joe Biden.
