UPDATE: An early morning fire at a Lakewood apartment building on Monday killed two people and injured 10 others.
The two individuals, who have not been identified, were found dead inside one of the units at Tiffany Square Apartments near Ninth Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard, Lakewood police said Monday in a news release.
Seven people were treated for injuries and released, including a firefighter. Three others — a mother, father and child — were transported to an area hospital, police said. The mother and child jumped from the building’s second story to escape, West Metro Fire RescuePolice and fire were called to the apartment fire around 4:14 a.m. Monday, and reported the blaze under control at about 5:30 a.m.
