A woman in an adjacent apartment was shot in the foot during a subsequent SWAT barricade and the man accused of shooting out of his apartment was in serious condition after turning the gun on himself, Houston Police Department SWAT Lt. Rick Besselman told Metro Video Services.Officers around 1:50 a.m. responded to a disturbance in the 2600 block of Yorktown Street and arrived to find a man on the balcony of his apartment, Besselman said.
Meanwhile, the man barricaded himself as SWAT officers and hostage negotiators arrived at the complex, around 2:45 a.m., Besselman said. Negotiators spoke with the man for several hours. He walked out on the balcony several times without a weapon, but reportedly wouldn’t surrender.
