Two firefighters were hurt and pets were lost, officials said.
Officials previously said two firefighters were injured. One fell down a flight of stairs and another was shocked while working the fire and waiting to have the electricity turned off.
“Both firefighters are doing well and are able to return to duty,” Whitehall fire Chief David Nelson said.that showed fire and smoke damage to the top floor and the roof of the apartment building. Nelson said officials have seen video a resident posted on Facebook showing neighbors being helped to safety. He cautioned that no one should enter a burning building under any circumstances.
Just before 1400hrs, the Engine, Rescue and Utility responded into Whitehall Township for a 2nd alarm apartment building fire. Crews handled initial fire attack duties and overhaul.
