Woman gets swept under flood waters and saved by 18 year old.
AURORA , Ohio - A small creek on Nautilus trail in Aurora is where Melissa Fitzwater says 18-year-old Andrew Marino saved her life. When she was ready to leave, she couldn’t drive out because the rain caused a lot of flooding.
After taking the advice of a police officer, she grabbed her things and started walking to the nearest intersection to get a ride from her mother. “As soon as I walked off this grass patch I went underwater, ” said Fitzwater. “It was like life flashed before my eyes, I felt for the concrete edge, and I grabbed onto it. That’s when I sat there and raised my arms up, saying please help me, please help me”.
“I’m shocked that I didn’t get caught in one of the rocks honestly,” said Marino. “There’s so many ways this situation could have gone poorly”.
