16-year-old boy fatally shot at high school graduation party in west Houston, sheriff's office says

Harris County sheriff's deputies arrived at a high school graduation party in west Houston Saturday morning and found a deceased 16-year-old boy with gunshot wounds.Based on the sheriff's office's preliminary investigation, a"very large" graduation party with teenagers was transpiring, Brown said. At some point, an altercation in front of the house occurred and shots were fired, striking the teenage boy, he added.
The teenage victim was a friend of the girl who lives at the home where the party was being held, according to Brown. The shooter came to the party and got into the"disturbance" with the boy, he added.
