The Cadillac Celestiq electric super-luxury sedan is launching its brand into rarified air, so everything has to be just right.
. But the difference with the Celestiq's massive, 55-inch HD screen is that it's actually one big piece that spans the entire dash, with two separate screens under that single pane of glass. What that allows is the owner will eventually be able to, say, show a full animation or image across the entire surface.
Vivian told us the team drove the Celestiq hundreds of thousands of miles on a simulator before even taking the car out on the road, and he was more than satisfied with how it turned out once they did, only having to make minor adjustments once road testing commenced.
Brandon Vivian told us that Cadillac will be able to update a suspension setting or fix other issues on the fly if they arise. The version of Cadillac's Ultra Cruise that the Celestiq will employ will be able to be updated as it improves. And the Google system will also be able to be refreshed as well.
The process will also allow Cadillac to offer Celestiq customers the ability to etch messages or images onto the printed pieces. In the show car was a metal trim piece in the center console featuring etchings of three Cadillacs, including the Celestiq. Those can be customized or changed to whatever the customer wants.
